From Hubby's Boss......Merry Christmas........

.....your position is terminated!

How cold and heartless can big companies be.  This company took on 3 guys in 3 states of Australia, taking them from a company they all worked for but were unhappy in.  He wanted to expand his company in the area that these 3 guys specialised in.  He has had them for no more than 11 months at the most, got the information and the new customers he needs and now has terminated all three of them at the same time quoting it is due to the economic climate....this is while announcing he is hiring 4 new storemen in Victoria and WA!

I just want to scream right now!

Salisbury Christmas Pageant

Saturday was the day of our local Christmas Pageant.  Although on a much smaller scale than the Adelaide one I showed you last week, it is lovely as it has a real community feel to it with many sporting clubs and child care centres dressing up and parading through the main street of the suburb.

My Mr11 proudly took part with his Karate club.  This is now, the third year that he has been a part of the pageant and they always have fun.  I am so thankful that the weather changed, after being a scorcher of a day on Friday, a cool change came in and the temps were a lovely 23 degrees (celcius) for Saturday.  It did rain a bit but I much preferred that to the poor kids suffering from the heat of the day before.

Here are a few photos of the day:

My boy's Karate Gang as he calls them

Star Wars was out in force

Here comes my boy :-)

Retired Greyhounds that have been rehomed through GAPSA, a cause that we hope to become involved in very soon

Yes that is Barney from the Flintstones along for the ride

The Line Dancers came along,,,some even dressed as Fairy Godmothers,,,too cute lol

We even had the real deal Santa, not one of his helpers (This Santa is always at our local shopping centre.  We love him, he has the real beard, he is just fantastic!!!)

Adelaide Credit Union Christmas Pageant 2011 - Part 2

Finally I have made it back to blog the rest of the photos from the Christmas Pageant.....well not all of the photos as there were approximately 100 floats and bands etc but a few more of our favourite ones at least lol.  The Adelaide Christmas Pageant began in 1933 and is an annual event, I hope will never die.  I believe in these times when there is so little joy in people's faces, with everyone suffering from financial stress, things like this are truly needed.  Something that families can go to which costs nothing but a parent's time (and patience lol) that lights up children's eyes and brings to life the magic of childhood.

Click on the photos to enlarge them :-)

Nellie the Elephant is one of the oldest floats dating back to 1950

Nipper and Nimble get taken to the Magic Cave to give rides to children when they go there to visit Santa

And the man all the kids are waiting for arrives last

Santa was welcomed with a very warm day in Adelaide

Tomorrow we are off to the local Christmas Pageant (done on a much much smaller scale lol) as my Mr11 is in it with the rest of his Karate Group.  Temperature today is meant to be a scorcher 37 degrees,,,,the weather man says tomorrow will be a much nicer 23 degrees with rain,,,,,I hope he is right!!!!  I would much rather the kids get wet than get heat stroke!
